Yogesh Rawal was born in Wankaner, Saurashtra: western Gujarat, on the night of January 1st 1954. In 1954 mid February he travelled to Mumbai with his mother where his father was settled already where he attended primary public school founded by Gulab ben Desai an Gandhian follower & Premier high school, Dadar. He joined School of Architecture at Bandra, Mumbai & left on realizing it was not an ART Course, he earned money by doing odd jobs for funding his art school education, next academic year he joined Sir J J School Of Arts. He learned printmaking with Prof Kashinath Salve after school hours from where he graduated in 1978, where he was appointed as a Fellow, soon he won an Scholarship from French Government for further studies in Printmaking and left for Paris in 1979 where he learnt Etching under Prof. William Hayter at Atelier 17, and Lithography under Prof. Haddad at Ecole des Beaux arts-on return he continued his career in art as a freelance artist. He lives and works in Mumbai.
