Shuvendu Sarkar: Bringing Out Human Insecurities

Through my painting, I can communicate with other people. This is the easiest way to execute the modern urban lifestyle. You can see painting is a history of time and I’m living this time. It is my social duty to do something for our next generation. My paintings are the narrative signature of the modern time. I feel great when I’m able to execute my thought process in my paintings. Painting is the only way through which I communicate. My work communicates the nature of human beings. The title of this painting is 24x7 Security. We are very insecure about our belongings and property. On these insecure feelings I have made this artwork. To keep our property more secure we use locks, keep dogs, appoint security guards, put CCTV cameras and sometimes ask our neighbours to keep an eye on our property. The eye in my artwork symbolises the eye of neighbour. This painting is a narrative signature of that particular insecure feeling.
