Animesh Nandi has spent 14 years as a freelance painter in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In the four decades of his creative experience, Nandi’s paintings form a part of many private and public art collections all over Europe and India apart from Los Angeles, Cambridge, Rio, Tokyo, Lagos and so on. Nandi is a member of the artists Association of Belgrade since 1972.

Now Kolkata based, Nandi's paintings represent serenity, a desire to be one with nature and to understand and feel the beauty of the universe from within. He believes that all of nature's animate and inanimate creations co-exist in inter-dependence and finally make the journey to be with the Almighty or the Supreme. Blue has a very strong presence in most of his paintings giving a different flavour to his canvasses. Nandi's impressions are reflected in almost all his artworks creating an outstanding panorama. Nandi is a member of Calcutta Painters and lives and works in Kolkata in West Bengal.

“In my early days I painted what I saw, I enjoyed and I liked. After that I started painting what was happening in the world. One of my special paintings was on the Bangladesh War, after that I involved myself with the Nature and thereafter the whole Universe. My paintings are related to the Universe and man. I have been doing it for the last 20-30 years. I have tried to depict my feelings in the Universe through my painting.”
